Fantasy Art
Dragons,
wizards, barbarians and heroes of all types. Fantasy art is a beloved
art form that depics fantastic flights of imagination and often
covers the myths and legends of the past and the present.
Fantasy art was long subjugated to the covers of pulp fiction books.
But it has come a long way in the past few decades. Fantasy has
established itself as a popular and respected genre of fantasy and
so has fantasy art.
And although it doesn't
receive the recognition that mainstream art has received it has
it has made tremendous progress based on the works of pioneers like
Frank Frazetta ,
Boris Vallejo, and Luis
Royo .
Although fantasy
artists can achieve financial success they often don't receive the
recognition of the main stream art world. There are a few exceptions
to this rule of fantasy artist in Rene
Magritte
and Salvador
Dali .
But they never presented themselves as Fantasy artists.
