This picture is of a diorama that I made. It is seven feet long and four feet wide. I built the table specifically for this scene and it has wheels so I can wheel it away from the wall and work on it. The mountain is hollow with several levels. On the far side of the mountain is a water pump that powers an actual waterfall. The castle has lights, a working chandelier, furniture and much more. The roof of the castle comes off so you can look inside. Near the center of the diorama (behind the trees) is a control panel that operates the waterfall, the lights and the sound effects.

Building miniature dioramas is a very rewarding hobby. The way I built this large diorama is exactly the same way I built the small diorama in the tutorial below. If you learn the techniques in this tutorial you will have all the knowledge you need to build a large diorama.

How To Paint Miniatures

So you have some miniuatures and maybe they are something like these. This picture shows a miniautre Bowman, a Miniature Horse and a Miniature Polearm soldier. 300 Diorama - Battle of Thermopylae

I am currently working on a three foot long diorama of the battle of the Spartans inspired by the 300 movie. Make A ShoeBox Diorama The Fantasy Diorama we will be making is called "The Battle With The Dragon" and it is pictured to the left. It shows a fire breathing dragon battling with a knight. The knight has his shield up to protect him from the fire. In the background you can see a castle.
