Latest on the Final Fantasy fighter. November 19, 2008 - Dissidia Final Fantasy is featured once again in the latest Famitsu. This time, the magazine has a look at probably the two biggest characters in the game, along with a recap of the game's board-based story mode and multiplayer options.

Book Review: Elric: The Sleeping Sorceress (Chronicles Of The Last Emperor Of Melniboné: Volume 3) by Michael Moorcock (Blogcritics.org) 11/18/2008 03:30 PM

Not only do these stories have to power to entertain and move, they give you plenty to think about. In works of fiction, especially fantasy and romance novels, the old maxim "nice guys finish last" is usually reworked to "nice guys just aren't as interesting". While it's true that the really diabolical characters are fun to read about, they're usually too one-dimensional to become an enduring ...

Movie review: Role Models (Journal Inquirer) 11/20/2008 02:03 AM

Role Models” is the kind of movie you don’t see every day, a comedy that is funny. The kind of comedy where funny people say funny things in funny situations, not the kind of comedy that whacks you with manic shocks to force an audible Pavlovian response.

Winning is a father-son business (The Journal News) 11/20/2008 02:38 AM

Five years ago, in 2003, New Rochelle and Nyack both won state football championships. It's a safe bet that for New Ro coach Lou DiRienzo and for Nyack coach John Castellano, a state championship this year would be sweeter.

Fade to Black: Stereotypes in the cinema (The Towerlight) 11/20/2008 12:17 AM

I was sitting in The Den on Tuesday, thinking about how to finish part two of a column that I began last week concerning not-so-classic movie quotes, when I got hit by inspiration. And as any Tenacious D fan will tell you, the search for "inspirado" is a sacred and holy one, so I felt it best not to ignore this sudden surge of an idea.

Killer's 'naked fear' (Pretoria News) 11/20/2008 12:38 AM

Johan Nell killed four people and injured 11 others because he was filled with fear that his family would be attacked on their North West farm. This is according to Dr Irma Labuschagne, a forensic criminologist, who was called to testify in Nell's favour in the Mmabatho High Court on Monday.

Sophie Morris: Sorry, John – but it's right for you to go (Independent) 11/19/2008 07:16 PM

Am I the only Strictly fan to welcome the news that John Sergeant is quitting the show? It's not that I don't like Sergeant. I too find his dancing bear antics and sausage grin as endearing as the rest of the country, but the judges have a point – the show is about the dancing – just not for the reasons they think it is.

Music and Magic in "Brigadoon" (East Aurora Advertiser) 11/18/2008 03:27 AM

Review by Julie Hadley Aurora Players wraps up its 2008 regular season with a spirited production of Lerner and Loewe's "Brigadoon," a musical fantasy about a Scottish village that appears from the mist for one day every 100 years. The large cast features Jeff Maris as Tommy Albright and Peter Bisuito as his cynical friend and traveling companion, Jeff Douglas. The pair of Americans finds ...

Because of the huge number of comments on this article, it was slowing down the server. I've created a separate thread here where people can continue their discussions on the story. © Fraser for Universe Today, 2008. | Permalink | 259 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Feed enhanced by Better Feed from Ozh

Mind Rot (MetroActive) 11/19/2008 02:20 PM

In ancient cultures, adolescent boys were required to undergo a transformation into manhood. Young boys embarked on a quest, were left isolated in the wild or buried alive. Returning victorious or dug up still sane, they were considered reborn, leaving their childish ways behind, becoming a warrior.
