Book Review: Elric: The Sleeping Sorceress (Chronicles Of The Last Emperor Of Melniboné: Volume 3) by Michael Moorcock (Blogcritics.org)
11/18/2008 03:30 PM
Not only do these stories have to power to entertain and move, they give you plenty to think about. In works of fiction, especially fantasy and romance novels, the old maxim "nice guys finish last" is usually reworked to "nice guys just aren't as interesting". While it's true that the really diabolical characters are fun to read about, they're usually too one-dimensional to become an enduring ...

Movie review: Role Models (Journal Inquirer)
11/20/2008 02:03 AM

Sophie Morris: Sorry, John – but it's right for you to go (Independent)
11/19/2008 07:16 PM
Am I the only Strictly fan to welcome the news that John Sergeant is quitting the show? It's not that I don't like Sergeant. I too find his dancing bear antics and sausage grin as endearing as the rest of the country, but the judges have a point – the show is about the dancing – just not for the reasons they think it is.

Mind Rot (MetroActive)
11/19/2008 02:20 PM
In ancient cultures, adolescent boys were required to undergo a transformation into manhood. Young boys embarked on a quest, were left isolated in the wild or buried alive. Returning victorious or dug up still sane, they were considered reborn, leaving their childish ways behind, becoming a warrior.
