Fantasy Games
Epic
fantasy has for thousands of years been the realm of story telling
then it moved into the realm of writing. When Television and movies
came along it made the transition easily. Now epic fantasy has moved
into the realm of video games and online games. And this is a transition
of enormous proportions because now instead of witnessing the hero
on his quest you can become the hero.
No longer do you listen to, read about or watch the hero conquer
beasts and adventure through new worlds but now you can actually
be the hero and do all of this for yourself.
Epic Fantasy games
for PC, platform or online play have quickly evolved into incredibly
rich worlds that you can explore. There are many different types
of games. Some focus on Player vs. Player combat. Some focus on
empire building. Some focus on The accomplishment of quests. ANd
all of them incorporate, to some extent, all of these characteristics.
Do you want to be a muscle-bound warrior? A wizard? Or maybe some
type of non human character like a dwarf or an elf? You can be that
now - all through the marvelous new world of Fantasy games.
Persistent worlds
In the games of the
past few years you would play the game then save your progress.
When you came back to the game it was exactly the way you left it.
But today the worlds are persistent. That means that even if you
are not playing things are happening and changes are being made.
Changes that permanently affect the game.
